Have you wondered how tech could help manage growing food? Over the past few years, more Americans have been looking into where their food actually comes from or the feasibility of growing their own food. These movements are leading the way for more people with “jobs in town” to buy farms to offer their food directly to area customers. However, when they get started, they quickly find out technology has yet to embrace their community and has instead pushed commercial farming further into commoditized factory-based food producers. When technology is available, the price is more significant than most annual profits of the entire farm.
In this session, Jeff Julian of Julian Farms shares the insights he has gathered over the last two years and how he uses the Meadow tools to make his farm easier for him and his family to manage.
Jeff Julian is a software consultant, farmer, author, entrepreneur, woodworker, marketer, videographer, and photographer, and now a device designer in AgTech. He was the Co-Founder of Geekswithblogs.net, a former Microsoft MVP in XML and SharePoint, and a former co-leader of this .NET User Group. He has been working on web applications since the mid-90s.
