Every culture has a gospel, a story about what will save it. The gospel of tech culture is no different.
It's the belief that our deepest problems can be engineered away. That if we just build the right system, the right platform, the right AI, that suffering, conflict, even meaning in life itself can be solved. It is the idea that salvation is just one breakthrough away. that progress will redeem us, that code will save us.
So we move faster, we scale bigger, we optimize everything, but underneath it all is a deep assumption that we are the ones who will fix everything.
Not because building is wrong, not because creativity is a mistake, but because we've been quietly asking builders to carry the weight of the world. That with enough human or technological intelligence, enough brilliance and innovation that we can overcome our limits and save the world that we broke.
And yet here we are, more empty than ever, accomplishing a ton, but feeling less fulfilled and more uncertain about what is this all for.
Why is that?
Because technology and the people building it, we make terrible saviors.
Technology is a powerful tool, but it was never meant to hold the weight of our hope, our meaning, and our identity. When we ask it to do that, it doesn't set us free. It wears us down.
And even if you gain everything you hoped for, what if you get the success you want, the impact want, the influence, does it actually fulfill you? Does it offer you real freedom deep in your bones?
The problem isn't that we hope too much. It's that we've been putting our hope in the things that can't hold it.
The Christian story.
It actually starts with a hard truth, not about technology, but about you and I. That something in the human heart is broken.
That no amount of progress, intelligence, or innovation can fix what's actually fractured inside of us.
The Bible calls this sin. Not just wrongdoing, but the deep tendency to trust ourselves instead of God.
And that's why the gospel of Jesus is so compelling. It's so different.
It doesn't start with what we can build. It starts with what God has done.
Jesus.
Jesus didn't come to optimize the world. He came to save it. Not to make us more efficient, but to deal with the thing that we can't fix ourselves, our sin, our guilt, our brokenness.
Where tech says, "Hey, try harder. Build faster. Be smarter." Jesus says, "Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest." - Matt 11:28
He steps into our failure, takes the weight that we were never meant to carry, and offers us forgiveness.
We don't have to earn this. He gives us this life that doesn't even end. It's an amazing gift.
Jesus lived the life we couldn't live and died on a cross for the sin we couldn't undo, not to shame us, but to free us.
And then God raised him from the dead, proving that sin, guilt, and even death do not have the final word.
You see, Jesus offers something no technology ever could. Forgiveness that actually lasts.
This way of life, it isn't easy. It asks for surrender, sacrifice, and trust.
Jesus even says that if you want to follow him, you must take up your cross daily, laying down the illusion that we can save ourselves.
I assure you this though, the way of Jesus is a better way because the gospel doesn't end innovation. It actually redeems it.
It reshapes the way we build, why we build, how we build, and who we become in the process of building.
It reminds us that our hope was never meant to rest on what we build, but actually who we belong to.
If you've never trusted Jesus or if you're quietly carrying the weight of trying to save yourself, this is an invitation for you today.
Jesus isn't asking you, "Hey, clean yourself up here. Get everything figured out and then come to me."
He invites you to stop striving and start trusting.
And you can take a moment right now honestly simply to ask the creator of the heavens and the earth to forgive you to lead you to give you a new life.
It is as simple as these words and you can say them with me now.
“Jesus forgive me of my sin. I give my life completely to you. Amen.”
